Yedlicka Scholarships: Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society, annually offers four scholarships for summer study abroad in France and in Canada. These Yedlicka scholarships enable students to study at the American University in Paris, the Institute of American Universities in Avignon, and for the first time this summer, 2007, at Laval University, in Quebec. Students register for two courses that focus on literary, cultural, or historical topics or subjects in the fine arts in six- or five-week sessions.

The competition is announced in the fall, with an application deadline of November 15th. All undergraduate members of the honor society are eligible to apply. The National Committee selects the students, giving priority to students who have never studied in France and whose academic records are outstanding. The scholarships cover the cost of tuition, room and partial board, and most travel expenses. The participating universities, as well as the National Deans' List, fund many of the costs covered by the scholarships, making the four awards possible.
